Who’s calling in the woods tonight? As daylight fades, the forest awakens with a whole new cast of wildlife. Join Seatuck for a guided, early-evening hike through the South Shore Nature Center and discover the sights and sounds of the woods after dark. November marks the beginning of the breeding season for Great Horned Owls, making it one of the best times of year to listen for their haunting calls echoing through the trees. As we quietly explore the trails under the stars, we'll learn how nocturnal wildlife navigates the night and, with some luck, hear one of Long Island's most iconic nighttime residents calling for a mate.
