Join us on the beach at night to Survey horseshoe crabs!

Ever wanted to see a "living fossil" up close? Join us for a hands-on night of citizen science. We're conducting research on our local horseshoe crab population, and we need your help.

We’ll start with a quick intro to these incredible 450-million-year-old creatures, then hit the beach to start the survey.

The Details:

  • Gear: You’ll need a flashlight or headlamp.

  • Dress Code: Be ready to get your feet wet! Shoes must be worn at all times for safety; no bare feet or flip-flops when attending the survey, please.

  • Rain or Shine: We’re going out regardless of the weather. Lightning cancels

  • Arrival: Please arrive 20 minutes early to get briefed.

Important: This program is FREE, but pre-registration is required due to strict permit limits. We unfortunately can’t make exceptions for walk-ins, so please make sure you’re signed up before heading out!
