Join us on Thursday, April 9 for a volunteer nest box build to support endangered Roseate Terns on Great Gull Island!

Great Gull Island, located at the eastern end of Long Island Sound, supports one of the largest nesting concentrations of endangered Roseate Terns in the Western Hemisphere. That is why Seatuck is excited to launch the Great Gull Island Nest Box Project, building nesting boxes to provide safe nesting habitat for this vulnerable species during the upcoming breeding season.

No construction experience is necessary—staff will provide guidance, tools, and materials. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for light construction work. If you have a cordless drill/driver, we encourage you to bring it along to help speed up the build process.

Registration is required. Volunteers ages 13 and up are welcome, and those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information, contact Claire Moran at [email protected].
