Donor Advised Funds

Donations to a donor advised fund (DAF) are eligible for a US federal income tax deduction and, once invested, can potentially grow, tax-free. Donating to a DAF may be useful in years when you are seeking a charitable deduction but want more time to finalize a giving strategy. Certain DAFs may allow you to donate complex assets, including cryptocurrency, shares of privately held companies, real estate, art or automobiles.

Increase Your Impact with a Matching Gift

Your employer may match your donation to Seatuck. A matching gift, which is a donation made by a corporation that matches an employee’s donation to an eligible nonprofit, could double your gift’s impact. Finding out if your employer has a matching gift program is easy. Just contact your Human Resource of Benefits Department to find out if your company offers the program and how you can submit your matching gift request.

Gifts of Appreciated Securities

Contributing appreciated securities to Seatuck is an ideal way to make a gift. If the security has been held at least one year, you may be eligible to receive tax benefits and also avoid any capital gain tax. Please consult your tax advisor for information regarding your personal situation.

Charitable IRA Rollover

If you are 70.5 years old or older, you can take advantage of a simple way to benefit Seatuck and receive tax benefits in return. Congress allows you to give up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as ours without having to pay income taxes on the money.

Bequests

You can help secure our future and create your own legacy by including Seatuck as a beneficiary in your will. Designating a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, a residual of your estate or a contingency amount allows you to make a high impact gift. It is recommended that a copy of the provision in your will that specifies your bequest to Seatuck be forwarded to our Development Office to ensure that it is carried out as you intended.
