Massapequa Lake Fish Ladder Installed
A fish ladder was installed at the Massapequa Lake dam on Massapequa Creek (at Merrick Road) on September 28th, 2009. The ladder restores access to over ¾ of a mile of historical freshwater habitat for migratory fish such as river herring (alewife and blueback herring), upstream to the Massapequa Reservoir (at Sunrise Highway).
